SHI WOO Entrepreneurship Pitch Contest
As part of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority 2018-2022 theme of Exemplifying Excellence through Sustainable Service, the Phi Pi Omega Chapter sees it as an honour to partner with organizations in Ghana - West Africa to bring about an all-female entrepreneurship contest open to all sectors of the economy.
“SHI WOO” is a native Ga word (major ethnic group in Ghana - West Africa) which means “PROMISE”
The aim of the contest is to present global impact to women led businesses in West Africa to the United States, provide financial aid to women in business and to form a network of women entrepreneurs across the Ghanaian Economy.
Also, the program aims to encourage women in the informal sectors of the economy to employ the use of technology in promoting their businesses, develop the knowledge of accessing grants, and to cultivate a global mind-set.

ENTRY CRITERIA
- All entrepreneurs must live in Ghana
- All businesses must operate in Ghana
- Focus on the topic “If you win the grand prize of $1,000, how will you use the money to pivot, transform, or improve your business?”
- The videos must be in English
- You must mention Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and Phi Pi Omega Chapter in the video
- Your video must not exceed 3 minutes
- You should use business tips discussed in one of our 3 webinar series located on Phi Pi Omega chapter’s Facebook Page
SELECTION CRITERIA
- First 10 people will be shortlisted based on how convincing the impact of USD 1000.00 can help in pivoting/transforming their businesses
- All 10 shortlisted participant will feature on a Facebook live pitch contest to compete for the ultimate prize of USD 1000.00
